About Pitzer College

Pitzer College is a private residential liberal arts college, located in Claremont, which is a college town in the US state of California, in eastern Los Angeles County, with a population of over 37 000 inhabitants, estimated during the 2008 census.

Pitzer was established in 1963 and it is one of the 7 institutions of higher learning known as The Claremont Colleges, which means that consortium resources are shared and students from Pitzer are allowed and encouraged to take classes at the other four undergraduate Claremont Colleges, and viceversa.

Pitzer offers over 40 majors, many of which are cross disciplinary.

Athletics

The sports teams from Pitzer College are joined with the ones at Pomona College, both forming the Sagehen sports teams, which compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
